Naruto is the work of Masashi Kishimoto and follows the titular character as he works toward becoming a full-fledged ninja with the ultimate goal of being the best ninja in his village.

So, honestly, this was a re-read for me. I read Naruto in middle and high school as it came out in Shonen Jump, and then in scanlations online when I just couldn’t wait. I am so happy to say that the story still holds up as an adult and I am full of nostalgia with reading this volume. This manga absolutely highlights all of the things I initially fell in love with about reading manga at all. Fun, accessible plot. Beautiful artwork. Strong, relatable characters.
If there were an equivalent of a classic edition in manga in the way there are for video games or traditional novels, I would expect Naruto to absolutely be on the list to get that treatment.
